Gorjana — a jewelry company hailing from Laguna Beach, California — will open its first store in Kansas in Leawood’s Town Center Plaza.

The new shop at 4838 W. 119th St. will open May 21, according to a release. It will move into the old Janie and Jack space.

Gorjana began in 2004, when Gorjana Reidel and her husband Jason began driving across the country to sell their jewelry collection. Today, Gorjana has dozens of stores in every region of the country.

The Leawood spot will sell gold bracelets, necklaces and pendants displaying diamonds, opals, sapphires and other gems. The renovated store will hope to capture an airy, Southern California feel, with natural light, plush seating, and light pink tiling.

Town Center Plaza is home to tenants like Anthropologie, Barnes and Noble and vegan restaurant Whole Harvest Kitchen, which opened earlier this year.
