Muni, a neighborhood bar and restaurant from the family behind Waldo Thai and Buck Tui BBQ, will open Friday in the River Market.

The address is 316 Delaware St., formerly home to Tribe Street Kitchen, which closed in December. Owner Ted Liberda characterized the food as “nontraditional Mexican and Thai.”

“It’s the newest evolution of our brand,” said Liberda, who owns the restaurants with his wife, Pam. “Our restaurants are Latino-driven kitchens — people who in some cases have been working for us for 15 years or more. What we’re serving here kind of grew out of the family meals we eat before the shift.”
