Locally owned Flapjacks ‘N More, an Overland Park brunch and lunch restaurant, will soon serve its powdered sugar-dusted pancakes and strawberry crepes at a second location.

The Shawnee spot at 22716 Midland Drive is set to open in September.

Flapjacks will take over the old Mickey’s Italian Ristorante, which closed in November after being open for just a few months. Mickey’s blamed staffing issues.

The restaurant serves waffles, omelets and stuffed French toast, as well as lunch items like the cowboy burger and grilled pastrami sandwich.

The original location at 7552 W. 119th St. opened in 2019.

Several breakfast chains have opened locations in the area over the past few years. Colorado-based Urban Egg opened its Overland Park spot at 4921 W. 119th St. last year, and Wichita’s HomeGrown opened a Leawood location this spring at 11705 Roe Ave.
