New York-based Tsaocaa says its goal is “pure tea with pure consistency.”

On Mother’s Day, a new area franchisee, Quiong Zou, softly opened a shop in Quivira Crossing, at 11770 W. 135th St. in Overland Park. She plans a grand opening on May 26.

The menu includes fresh fruit mojitos, fresh brewed tea (such as jasmine green tea, peach oolong and rose oolong); fruit tea (peach milk green tea with peach boba, blueberry milk green tea with yogurt); and fruity yogurt slush drinks (blueberry, pineapple, strawberry, mango and peach).

It also has Hong Kong egg waffles (original or matcha/cocoa), and customers can add a scoop of ice cream. Other treats include green tea cheesecake and green tea tiramisu.

The company said Tsaocaa translates to “holy land of tea” and is pronounced “tsao-cha.” Tsaocha is the spelling in Mandarin, while Tsaocaa is the spelling in Cantonese.

Zou also owns Tokyo Grill in Blue Springs and said her sisters have the two other area locations. Her parents own Sawa Sushi & Hibachi in Overland Park.

She may open additional Tsaocaa shops in the metro.
