A family owned pop-up selling fresh baked cookies has opened a new retail location.

Brown Suga took a space at 1066 W. Santa Fe St., Olathe.

It offers a variety of cookies. Standard flavors are: chocolate chip, cookies n’ cream, snickerdoodles, peanut butter, sugar, double chocolate chip, birthday cake, monster, oatmeal raisin and lemon crinkle. They also will have seasonal flavors including the current campfire (a s’mores type cookie) and sweet n salty (pretzels, caramel and chocolate chips).

Cookies n’ cream and lemon crinkle are the most popular.

Reva Paul and her daughters, Ebony Paul-Harris and Asia Lockett, are the owners and the sisters are the third generation to grow up in Olathe. They started selling their cookies during the pandemic to “create a spark of joy in all the madness.” Now they said people are looking for ways to reconnect with their community.

“Desserts are more of an impulse buy, so it is important to have a retail shop and we wanted to build more of a connection with our community,” Ebony Paul-Harris said. “It’s been really fun. My mom said she has to treat us more like business partners than daughters.”

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. It also caters events, including birthday parties and weddings.
