Health insurance enrollment center will open at 18th and Vine
A new Affordable Care Act health insurance enrollment and call center will open this month in Kansas City’s 18th and Vine District.
The center will be operated by McDaniel Hazley Group, a full-service individual, family and business insurance firm.
At a ribbon-cutting Friday at 1520 E. 18th St., company president John McDaniel said the center will fill a void in current services. He said the center will not only offer enrollment assistance to individuals, churches, small-business owners and nonprofit organizations under the Affordable Care Act, but will be available for follow-up questions and concerns about their health insurance.
That is an unusual and needed service for this area, said Ron Rowe of Blue Cross and Blue Shield, which assisted the McDaniel group in setting up the center.
The business will bring between 30 and 50 new employees to the 18th and Vine District.
The enrollment center, which opens Nov. 15, will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The call center, reachable at 816-326-0035, will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays. The website is www.mhgobamacare.com.
