Six hospitals in or near Kansas City made Hospitals & Health Networks magazine’s 2017 “Most Wired” list.

The hospitals — honored for their use of technology such as electronic health records, telehealth and mobile clinical apps — were Children’s Mercy Hospital, St. Luke’s Health System, Truman Medical Centers, the University of Kansas Hospital, Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

The list also included Adventist Health and HCA Health, two national chains with hospitals in the Kansas City area.

Mosaic Life Care was also one of six finalists for the magazine’s Innovator Award. The magazine recognized Mosaic for its Patient Portal, “an integrated solution that allows patients to securely review their (electronic health records) from any device and contribute to their own records.”

University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia was one of three Innovator Award winners for its “Moodtrek” smartphone app, which “allows patients to securely track their mood, activity and sleep and to journal information in an electronic health record-integrated display.”
