Children’s Mercy Hospital officials announced Friday that they will partner with Geary Community Hospital to build a pediatric clinic at the hospital in Junction City, Kan.
Children’s Mercy specialists have traveled to Junction City to treat cardiology and diabetes patients in the past and Children’s Mercy officials are now planning to put a 7,000-square foot clinic that will include 12 examination rooms in the lower level area of GCH. The R2B4 Bramlage Family Foundation and the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation are also partnering on the project, with construction slated to begin within weeks and finish next spring.
Geary County, in the Kansas Flint Hills region, has a population of about 35,000 and is near Manhattan and Fort Riley.
