St. Luke’s Health System said Monday that it has completed an affiliation agreement with the Bishop Spencer Place retirement facility.

Bishop Spencer Place’s employees, managers and directors now are part of the hospital’s system, a move that officials said will provide “greater efficiencies and better coordination of care.”

The agreement solidifies long-standing ties between the two entities, which count themselves as ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri. Bishop Spencer Place, a high-end retirement community at 4301 Madison Ave. in the Westport area, was founded in 1995.
