Construction work on a supermarket and apartment complex at 51st Street and Brookside Boulevard will temporarily narrow Brookside Boulevard to two lanes and close parts of 51st Street beginning Monday.

Developer VanTrust Real Estate said Brookside Boulevard at 51st Street will be reduced to the two center lanes to allow site improvements. The restrictions affect the curb lanes in each direction, probably until Aug. 16.

Site work also will cause temporary closings of 51st Street, first between Grand and Brookside and later between Brookside and Oak. The company said access to the parking areas for the retail shops on 51st Street will be maintained off Oak.

Access to the Trolley Track Trail will be maintained throughout the construction project.
