KC real estate firm Kessinger/Hunter cuts ties with Cushman & Wakefield
Kessinger/Hunter & Co. LC, a commercial real estate firm that has been affiliated for 12 years with the national firm of Cushman & Wakefield, said Monday it was ending that relationship for work in the Kansas City area.
Kessinger/Hunter Chairman Chuck Hunter said the change, effective Tuesday, was made because DTZ, a commercial real estate firm that also does business in the Kansas City area, bought Cushman & Wakefield, which “created an overlap in services.”
Kessinger/Hunter said in a news release that it has operated independently for more than 130 years and believes its clients are better served by staying independent. It said it may continue to cooperate with Cushman & Wakefield outside of the Kansas City area.
