Security firm opens office near KCI
Akal Security has opened a Kansas City office in the Ambassador Building at KCI, near Kansas City International Airport.
The New Mexico-based company said its lease includes 5,200-square-feet of space for the company’s hiring and management of professional security screeners.
The new office will help support Akal’s contract with the Transportation Security Administration in a program for screening passengers and baggage at KCI.
The Ambassador Building, at 12200 NW Ambassador Drive, was formerly the headquarters of Farmland Industries. It was acquired by the Kansas City Aviation Department in 2006. The department said the building is now about 70 percent leased.
