Construction begins on new Meadowbrook Park clubhouse in Prairie Village

Work has begun on a 12,300-square-foot clubhouse and activity center in the new Meadowbrook Park under development at Nall Avenue and 91st Street in Prairie Village.

Harmon Construction won the Johnson County Park & Recreation District contract, part of the ongoing redevelopment of the former Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club.

The new clubhouse will be part of an 80-acre area that will include picnic areas, shelters, a large pavilion, restrooms, playground, gardens, 3.75 miles of paved trails, tennis courts and ponds.

SFS Architecture designed the clubhouse, which is scheduled for completion by April 2018.

The former country club property, which extends south to 95th Street, is being redeveloped by Van Trust Real Estate. The entire plan includes single-family homes, townhomes, apartments and a senior living center.
