Honeywell, the operator of a nuclear security campus in Kansas City, plans to lease more office space to make room for its expanding workforce.

The multinational conglomerate has added 300 employees to its south Kansas City operation so far in 2016, bringing its number of employees serving the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Security Campus to 3,000. It also maxed out its current office space at 14520 Botts Road, where it makes non-nuclear parts for nuclear weapons.

Honeywell is now looking to lease an additional 60,000 square feet of existing office space near where it operates the National Security Campus.

The company has limited its search region to the southern reaches of the Kansas City metro area.

In Missouri, the search parameters are generally Missouri 58 to the south, Missouri 50 to the north, State Line Road to the west and Ward Road to the east. That’s an area that covers portions of Belton, Raymore, Grandview, Lee’s Summit and south Kansas City.

On the Kansas side, Honeywell is looking at a north boundary of 103rd Street, State Line Road to the east, Metcalf Avenue to the west and 159th Street to the south. In other words, mostly Overland Park.

The company has given preference to office locations near food services.
