KCP&L recognized for economic development work
At the end of many press releases announcing economic development organizations that helped attract businesses to locate or expand in the Kansas City area, Kansas City Power & Light usually is listed.
The utility’s active role in helping spur growth in its 47-county territory has earned KCP&L designation as a national Accredited Economic Development Organization. It is one of only two utilities with that accreditation.
KCP&L received accreditation after site visits and interviews with multiple Kansas City area economic development officials. Joe Fangman, John Engelmann, Lisa Franklin, Mark Dawson and Dan Hegeman are part of KCP&L’s development team.
