Kansas, Kansas City restaurant, grocery store health inspections for Aug. 31

Here are area food establishments with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants and grocery stores correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available):

▪ Las Islas Marias, 7516 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 14 priority violations during a July 12 follow-up inspection.

▪ Rooster’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill, 800 E. Main St., Gardner, had 11 priority violations during a July 26 routine inspection. It had no priority violations during an Aug. 8 follow-up inspection.

▪ China 1, 147 N. Parker St., Olathe, had 10 priority violations during a July 25 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during an Aug. 4 follow-up inspection.

▪ Le Peep, 7218 College Blvd., Overland Park, had 10 priority violations during a July 6 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a July 18 follow-up inspection.

▪ Superstore, 13815 Polfer Road, Kansas City, Kan., had 10 priority violations during an Aug. 10 routine inspection. It had 2 priority violations during an Aug. 22 follow-up inspection.

▪ Blazers Restaurant, 131 N. Center St., Gardner, had 9 priority violations during a July 26 routine inspection. It had no priority violations during an Aug. 8 follow-up inspection.

▪ Taco Republic, 500 County Line Road, Kansas City, Kan., had 9 priority violations during an Aug. 12 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Whole Foods, 7401 W. 91st St., Overland Park, had 9 priority violations during a July 25 routine inspection. It had no priority violations during an Aug. 8 follow-up inspection.

▪ Jazz A Louisiana Kitchen, 1859 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a July 9 follow-up inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a July 27 follow-up inspection.

▪ KC Rainbow, 6457 Quivira Road, Shawnee, had 8 priority violations during a July 13 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Winstead’s, 4971 W. 135th St., Leawood, had 8 priority violations during an Aug. 9 routine inspection.

▪ Abarrotes Delicias, 3137 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during an Aug. 12 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during an Aug. 23 follow-up inspection.

▪ Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, Epic Buffet, 777 Hollywood Casino Blvd., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a July 12 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Pizza Shoppe, 22014 W. 66th St., Shawnee, had 7 priority violations during a July 25 standardization inspection. It had no priority violations during an Aug. 8 follow-up inspection.

▪ Prime Sushi, 4980 Main St., had 14 critical violations during an Aug. 10 routine inspection. It had 2 critical violations during an Aug. 18 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during an Aug. 24 follow-up inspection.

▪ Gram & Dun, Country Club Plaza, 600 Ward Parkway, had 13 critical violations during an Aug. 16 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during an Aug. 25 follow-up inspection.

▪ Fred P. Ott’s, Country Club Plaza, 4770 J.C. Nichols Parkway, had 12 critical violations during an Aug. 11 routine inspection. It has 6 critical violations during an Aug. 18 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during an Aug. 25 follow-up inspection.

▪ Peking Garden, 5930 Wilson Road, had 12 critical violations during an Aug. 16 routine inspection. It had 4 critical violations during an Aug. 22 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during an Aug. 24 follow-up inspection.

▪ China Wok, 6048 N.W. Barry Road, had 11 critical violations during an Aug. 16 routine inspection. It had 3 critical violations during an Aug. 22 follow-up inspection and 1 critical violation during an Aug. 26 follow-up inspection.

▪ Fusion Buffet, 4039 Mill St., had 10 critical violations during an Aug. 23 routine inspection.

▪ The Melting Pot, Country Club Plaza, 450 Ward Parkway, had 9 critical violations during an Aug. 12 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 19 follow-up inspection.

▪ 54th Street Bar & Grill, 303 N.E. Englewood Road, had 8 critical violations during an Aug. 20 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during an Aug. 25 routine inspection.

▪ Jose Pepper’s Liberty, 9050 N.E. Barry Road, 8 critical violations during an Aug. 10 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 16 follow-up inspection.

▪ All Halal Deli, 8330 E Bannister Road, had 7 critical violations during an Aug. 10 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 18 follow-up inspection.

▪ Em Chamas Brazilian Grill, 6101 N.W. 63rd Terrace, had 7 critical violations during an Aug. 11 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 18 follow-up inspection.
