Restaurant & grocery store inspections for Feb. 12
Here are area restaurants and grocery stores with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to the original public record reports by city or county health inspectors and the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Links to follow-up inspections are also highlighted.
Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:
▪ Paul’s Liquor & Groceries, 5506 Paseo Blvd., had 9 critical violations during a Jan. 13 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Jan. 16 follow-up inspection.
▪ Taqueria El Torito, 6126 Independence Ave., had 9 critical violations during a Dec. 9 routine inspection. It had 3 critical violations during a Dec. 15 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during a Dec. 26 follow-up inspection.
Chaz on the Plaza, 325 Ward Parkway, had 8 critical violations during a Dec. 8 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 11 follow-up inspection.
▪ Chubby’s on Broadway, 3756 Broadway, had 8 critical violations during a Dec. 5 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 10 follow-up inspection.
▪ The Flying Saucer, Power & Light District, 101 E. 13th St., had 8 critical violations during a Dec. 26 routine inspection. It had 3 critical violations during a Jan. 5 follow-up inspection and 1 critical violation during a Jan. 14 follow-up inspection.
▪ KC Sushi, 7753 N.W. Prairie View Road, had 8 critical violations during a Jan. 20 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Jan. 30 follow-up inspection.
▪ Michael Forbes Bar & Grille, Brookside, 128 W. 63rd St., had 8 critical violations during a Dec. 3 routine inspection and no critical violations during a Dec. 12 follow-up inspection.
▪ Tokyo Japanese Steak House, 7 N.W. Barry Road, (9 N.W. Barry Road on the inspection report), had 8 critical violations during a Dec. 2 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 9 follow-up inspection.
▪ Zocalo Mexican Cuisine & Tequileria, Country Club Plaza, 620 W. 48th St., had 8 critical violations during a Dec. 12 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 17 follow-up inspection.
▪ Blue Parkway Sunfresh, deli, 4209 E. 50th Terrace, had 7 priority violations during a Dec. 12 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 22 follow-up inspection.
▪ China Wok, 6048 N.W. Barry Road, had 7 critical violations during a Dec. 23 follow-up inspection. It had 3 critical violations during a Dec. 29 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during a Jan. 5 follow-up inspection.
▪ Conoco, 201 W. Sixth St., deli, had 7 critical violations during a Dec. 1 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 9 follow-up inspection.
▪ Denny’s, 6887 E. Front St., had 7 critical violations during a Dec. 9 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 17 follow-up inspection.
▪ Holiday Inn, 7333 N.E. Parvin Road, had 7 critical violations during a Dec. 3 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 12 follow-up inspection.
▪ Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center, main kitchen, 2345 McGee St., had 7 critical violations during a Dec. 17 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Dec. 26 follow-up inspection.
▪ Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Country Club Plaza, The Gallery, 770 W. 47th St., had 7 critical violations during a Jan. 15 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during a Jan. 20 follow-up inspection and no critical violations during a Jan. 26 follow-up inspection.
▪ Steak & Eggs, 1130 W. 103rd St., had 7 critical violations during a Jan. 5 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Jan. 16 follow-up inspection.
▪ Taco Bueno, 6901 N.W. 83rd Terrace, had 7 critical violations during a Dec. 4 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Dec. 10 follow-up inspection.

▪ Ingredient, Park Place, 11563 Ash St., Leawood, had 8 priority violations during a Jan. 8 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a Jan. 20 follow-up inspection.
▪ Price Chopper, 13351 Mission Road, Leawood, had 8 priority violations during a Dec. 30 routine inspection. It had 3 priority violations during a Jan. 9 follow-up inspection.
▪ Bichelmeyer Meats, 704 Cheyenne, Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Jan. 22 follow-up inspection to a Jan. 6 routine inspection.
▪ Big Q, 2117 S. 34th St., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Jan. 12 inspection following a complaint. It has no priority violations during a Jan. 22 follow-up inspection.
▪ Carniceria Y Tortilleria San Antonio, 830 Kansas Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Jan. 15 inspection following a complaint. It had 1 priority violation during a Feb. 6 follow-up inspection.
▪ Ruchi Indian Cuisine, 11168 Antioch Road, Overland Park, had 7 critical violations during a Dec. 16 inspection following a complaint. It had 1 priority violation during a Dec. 31 follow-up inspection.
