Longboards Wraps opens in Lee’s Summit, Brewbakers Bar coming to Belton
Longboards Wraps and Bowls has opened in Lee’s Summit.
Founder Gilbert Macapagal moved to Kansas City from the Philippines when he was 16 years old. He later lived in San Diego, Calif., where he embraced the laid-back surfer lifestyle. After returning to Kansas City, he worked at several area restaurants and corporate kitchens before opening his first Longboards in 2004. John Bailey became a partner in 2011.
They now have locations in Liberty, the Northland and Mission.
The menu includes salad bowls, hot noodle bowls, cool-style wraps and grilled-style wraps, Hawaiian sliders and grilled flat wraps. Longboards also offers a variety of house-made sauces and dressings, including Thai peanut, Thai chili vinaigrette, wasabi mayo, honey mustard, orange sauce and chipotle ranch.
The new location is at 506M S.E. Missouri 291, Suite A, in Lee’s Summit.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Brewbakers for Belton
Lane4 Property Group purchased Belton’s Cedar Tree Shopping Center two years ago.
The center, at the northwest corner of Interstate 49 and Missouri 58, is open during a renovation that is expected to be completed in October.
It said it recently signed Lenexa’s Brewbakers Bar & Grill for a 6,300-square-foot spot, which will bring occupancy to 80 percent. It is negotiations with several other prospective tenants.
Current tenants include the Cass County Library, Aaron’s, Planet Fitness, The Salvation Army and Subway.
