Health department temporarily shuts down Westport’s Port Fonda
The Kansas City Health Department temporarily closed Port Fonda, 4141 Pennsylvania Ave., after a Jan. 22 inspection following a complaint.
The restaurant and bar was closed because it did not have hot water.
It had no critical violations during a Jan. 23 follow-up inspection and was allowed to reopen at 3 p.m.
“Our hot water heater broke and our options were basically to get a piece sent overnight or drive to Springfield,” said Patrick Ryan, owner, on Friday. “It arrived at 9 a.m. this morning.”
