After 22 years in Gladstone, The Wheel Cyclery is closing.

Owner Heather Jordan said it was time for a new chapter in her life.

“I work seven days a week. People don’t realize how much time it takes to operate a retail shop,” Jordan said.

The shop sells bikes, accessories and apparel. Inventory is now 35 percent off and special orders are 20 percent off.

It is scheduled to close April 27.

The Wheel Cyclery has operated in the 5,020-square-foot space at 6403 N. Prospect Ave. in Prospect Plaza for five years. It was previously in a space near the former Antioch Mall, now redeveloped as Antioch Crossing.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Jordan also operates a yoga studio, The Wheel Yoga, in the space and plans to continue to relocate in the Northland.

It moved to a temporary space at 2813 2701 N.E. Kendallwood Parkway on Monday.

NKC food trucks return

North Kansas City’s Macken Park is once again hosting food trucks.

The trucks set up in the parking lot adjacent to Clark Ferguson Drive from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays — the second and fourth weeks of each month from April to October. There will typically be two food trucks offering savory items and one offering sweet items each day the event will be held.

Food trucks participating in the program are American Fusion, BooYah Asian Fusion, Coffeecake KC, Helen’s on Wheels Grill, KC Pinoy, Pip’s Burgers, Plantain District, Polar Oasis, and Simply Frosted.

Now open

Liquor Plus has opened in 57 Plaza, 5753 N. Antioch Road, in Gladstone.

Greg Harris, owner, said he is specializing in craft beers but also offers a variety of wines and spirits.
