▪ Kansas City Business Center for Entrepreneurial Development is opening a new restaurant in Leawood.
Wing Lovers USA is to debut Jan. 25 in the Village of Seville, 13164 State Line Road, Leawood.
V.L. Dixon, founder of the business center, said all net profits from the restaurant will benefit community service projects, especially poverty programs.
Wing Lovers will serve hot wings, fatburgers, Philly steaks and salads. It also will have a juice bar.

Dixon founded Wings ’N Things in the early 1980s and Wing Lovers USA will use some of the original recipes.
Zepi’s Pizza & Pub and Sammy’s Pizza & Pub formerly occupied the site.
▪ Bottoms Up Antique Market, 1300 W. 13th St. in the West Bottoms, has a new bar for First Friday weekend events. Paris of the Plains Saloon is on the second floor and will offer local craft beers, wine and specialty cocktails on the first Friday and Saturday of the month.
▪ The building housing the former Czar Bar at 1531 Grand Blvd. is for sale for $550,000, and also for lease. Block & Co. Realtors said it is in talks with several entrepreneurs interested in reopening the bar and concert venue.
▪ Rice House Chinese Restaurant is now open at 13003 State Line Road. Menu items include house specialties like Sizzling Black Pepper Beef, scallop in garlic sauce and orange chicken. It also has a children’s menu and a gluten-free menu.
▪ After “tons of research, awkward cold calls, and several cross-country trips,” Thrillist Media Group, a digital media company specializing in food, drink and travel, has put together a list of what may be the most iconic restaurants in every state.
For Missouri that is Kansas City’s Arthur Bryant’s Barbeque (Est. 1940)
“Kansas City BBQ didn’t get its start at Arthur Bryant’s, but it’s as close as you’re gonna get to the original.
