Chipotle Cultivate Festival is returning to Kansas City.

The free festival, which features live music and on-site chef demonstrations, will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 23 at Penn Valley Park.

In a statement, Mark Crumpacker, chief creative and development officer at Chipotle, said: “We are changing the way people think about and eat fast food, and that includes helping people understand how food is raised and prepared. The Cultivate events allow us to bring people together for a celebration of food and music, but also to educate them about how food can be raised responsible and prepared safely.”

The event will include five interactive experiences focused on sustainable food, including issues surrounding genetically modified foods, also known as GMOs, and the secret to making Chipotle’s guacamole. It also will feature a Kids’ Zone with activities and snacks.

The Artisans’ Hall will offer local desserts for purchase and a Tasting Hall serving local craft beers, wines and ciders.

Chef demonstrations will be by Colby Garrelts of Bluestem and Rye, Michael Corvino of The American Restaurant, Carla Hall from ABC’s The Chew, James Beard Award-winning TV personality Andrew Zimmern, and Gerard Craft, owner of Niche Food Group in the St. Louis area.

The festival also will return to Phoenix and debut in Miami.

All three festivals will serve the Cultivate Mexican Lager, a Mexican-style lager brewed exclusively for the festivals by Boulevard Brewing Co., along with Phoenix’s Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. and Tampa’s Cigar City Brewing.

Musical talent will be announced in early summer.
