Leap Day specials: from freebies for Leaplings to discounts for all

Several retailers are rolling out freebies for Leaplings — those people born on Leap Day. Most of the operations will require a valid ID showing a Leap Day birthday.

Not born on Feb. 29? You can still take advantage of other Leap Day offerings.

For Leaplings

▪ Houlihan’s: Free entree on Feb. 29, along with 28 additional free entrees to redeem on a return visit at any Houlihan’s in the next month.

▪ Doughnut Lounge, Westport: Free doughnut

▪ Great American Cookies, Independence Center: Free “Individually Yours Cookie Cake.”

▪ Olive Garden: Free dessert. Leaplings must print out the coupon from its website or show the coupon on their phone.

▪ Pizza Hut: Free personal pan pizza for carryout or dine-in only.

▪ Villa Italian Kitchen, Independence Center: free slice of pizza

For Leaplings and others

▪ Doughnut Lounge: 29 percent off any dozen doughnuts.

▪ Krispy Kreme: Buy any dozen donuts and get a dozen for $2.29.

▪ Lids: Free shipping on orders of $50 or more.

▪ Pizza Hut: Purchase a large pizza at regular price and get a medium one-topping pizza for 29 cents.
