Kansas, Kansas City restaurant inspections for Jan. 28

Here are area restaurants and grocery stores with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to the original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture has been transitioning to new inspection software since early August 2015 and direct links to Kansas inspections are not available at this time.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations.

▪ City Super Buffet, 12225 S. Strang Line Road, Olathe, had 11 priority violations during a Jan. 14 follow-up inspection.

▪ Hira’s Steak & Sushi, 15202B W. 119th St., Olathe, had 11 priority violations during a Jan. 14 routine inspection.

▪ Hy-Vee, 6655 Martway, Mission, had 11 priority violations during a Jan. 15 routine inspection.

▪ Subway, 1120 N. 79th St., Kansas City, Kan., had 9 priority violations during a Jan. 14 routine inspection.

▪ Frontera’s Supermarket, 761 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a Jan. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Grinders Stonewall, 10240 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, had 8 priority violations during a Jan. 14 inspection following a complaint.

▪ Pilot, 1410 Kansas Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a Jan. 19 follow-up inspection.

▪ Waffle House, 4 S. 130th St., Bonner Springs, had 8 priority violations during a Jan. 21 routine inspection.

▪ Bonner Springs Pizza Co., 128 B Oak St., Bonner Springs, had 7 priority violations during a Dec. 30 follow-up inspection. It had 7 priority violations during an Oct. 8 routine inspection.

▪ City Fish & More, 2704 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Jan. 13 routine inspection.

▪ Dorothy D’s Cafe, 2001 N. Fifth St., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a Jan. 20 routine inspection.

▪ Price Chopper, 7201 W. 151st St., Overland Park, had 7 priority violations during a Jan. 13 routine inspection.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:

▪ Chuck E. Cheese’s, 9196 N.W. Skyview Ave., had 10 critical violations during a Jan. 14 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Jan. 20 follow-up inspection.

▪ Asian Buffet, 511 N.W. Barry Road, had 8 priority violations during a Jan. 6 routine inspection. It had 2 critical violations during a Jan. 14 inspection following a complaint, and 1 critical violation during a Jan. 22 follow-up inspection.

▪ Cancun Fiesta Fresh, 4019 Pennsylvania Ave., had 8 critical violations during a Jan. 14 routine inspection. It had 3 critical violations during a Jan. 22 follow-up inspection.
