Update: Church’s Chicken reopens on Gillham

Church’s Chicken at 3145 Gillham Plaza has reopened.

The Kansas City Health Department temporarily closed the operation on Jan. 6 because of live roach activity at the time of the re-inspection. This was the third re-inspection after a routine inspection on Dec. 12.

Church’s Chicken could not prepare, serve or sell food until they provided a corrective action plan and a written request for re-inspection to the health department. Restaurant officials also had to show that they had effective pest control measures in place.

It had no critical violations during a Jan. 8 follow-up inspection and was allowed to reopen.
