Three Lee’s Summit restaurant updates
One Lee’s Summit restaurant and bar has closed temporarily and two operations have closed for good.
▪ 810 Zone has temporarily closed in SummitWoods Crossing at 1672 N.W. Chipman Road for a remodeling and more. The owners expect to reopen before March Madness with a new look, new menu featuring barbecue and other changes.
▪ Bonchon has closed after only a few months in SummitWoods Crossing, 1740 N.W. Chipman Road. The fast casual chain served an Asian fusion menu with such items as salads, edamame, Korean scallion pancakes, potstickers, rice bowls and sliders.
Bonchon officials did not return phone calls seeking comment on the closing.
▪ Freebirds World Burrito has shuttered its doors in Summit Fair, 860 N.W. Blue Parkway.
The area locations had been owned by a franchisee but are now corporate owned.
In a statement, a company spokeswoman said: “It’s never an easy decision for Freebirds to close a restaurant and they apologize for the inconvenience. Freebirds made the decision to not renew their lease at Lee’s Summit and would encourage any and all guests to visit their other locations.”
Freebirds also has area locations in Mission, Overland Park and Westport.
