Tropical Smoothie Cafe opens in Lenexa

Atlanta’s Tropical Smoothie Cafe has entered the market with a Lenexa location.

The fast casual cafe, at 12850 W. 87th St., specializes in “fresh and healthier offerings” including smoothies with a tropical twist, salads, tacos, wraps, sandwiches and flatbreads.

Menu items include sandwiches like the Moho Mojo Club with all-natural grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar, tomato, avocado and zesty mojo sauce, topped with house-made slaw on a toasted brioche, and smoothies like the Kiwi Quencher with kiwi, strawberries and non-fat yogurt, and the Avocolada with avocado, pineapple, spinach, kale, coconut and lime.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Area franchisees Scott and Missy Andersen plan a grand opening celebration on Jan. 5.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe was founded in 1997 and now has more than 445 locations across the country. The company plans to have 800 stores open by 2018.
