Coach outlet is here to stay in a larger location.

The luxury brand had opened a summer pop-up store in May 2014 in the Legends Outlets Kansas City in Kansas City, Kan., as well as 10 other locations across the country.

Those other locations closed in January, but Coach extended its lease in the Legends. On Friday, it softly opened a permanent store in a new 8,337-square-foot space at 1855 Village West Parkway, G-101.

Backfire BBQ Featuring Orange County Choppers formerly occupied the space. Backfire closed in September 2013 after nearly four years in the center.

Along with high-end leather goods like handbags, footwear and wallets, the new Coach store also includes a men’s department with such items as belts cut-to-size. It also has parkas, coats, scarves and sunglasses — all discounted up to 70 percent off regular retail prices.

The new store is one of its “modern luxury outlet stores” shops, which showcase its collection of products including clothing, shoes, sunglasses, jewelry, watches and fragrances for both men and women. The first Coach modern luxury outlet stores debuted in spring 2015 and the company has nearly 20 outlet stores under the new concept.

On Monday, Andrea Resnick, global head of investor relations and corporate communications for the company, said in a statement: “In both retail and outlet, our objective is to deliver a compelling, inclusive and elevated retail expression that not only engages the consumer at an emotional level, but is globally consistent and admired …. So to develop the modern luxury concept, we partnered with Studio Sofield, one of the top designers of luxury spaces.”

The stores have fixtures in natural ash wood with antique bronze accents.

In other Legends Outlets news: Forever 21’s F21 Red concept store and Watch Station recently opened in the center.

Forever 21 said its customers can find some of the same items in an F21 Red store that can be found in one of its full-line Forever 21 shops — including Forever 21 Men, Forever 21 Plus and Forever 21 Girls. And while F21 Red is not a discount or outlet store, it “maintains the entry-level price points Forever 21 is known for offering.”

The store offers tops, denim, active, logo tees, fashion basics and accessories. In addition, it has an increased assortment for men, boys and girls. Customers can expect to find jeans for less than $8, tank tops for less than $5, and camisoles for $2. The 16,045-square-foot store is at 1817 Village West Parkway, Suite S-101, in the former VF Outlet.

Forever 21 closed its 15,000-square-foot store in the Legends.

Watch Station is now open at 1843 Village West Parkway, C-103. Watch Station sells fashion and designer luxury timepieces, including Fossil-owned and licensed watch brands like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Emporio Armani, DKNY and Diesel.
