Two Dunkin’ Donuts planned for Lee’s Summit

Berliner Group of Omaha plans to open a freestanding Dunkin’ Donuts with a drive-thru in Gladstone’s Meadowbrook Village Shopping Center later this month.

The partners in the group — former NFL and University of Nebraska football players Kris Brown and Zach Wiegert, along with David Scott — also have formed Berliner III LLC to develop two Lee’s Summit locations and 14 more in the St. Louis area over the next seven years. The first one will probably open in the St. Louis area in 2016.

“There is definitely a place for Dunkin’ in Lee’s Summit. We are excited to expand our reach,” Brown said.

Under Berliner Group, they currently operate six Dunkin’ Donuts: one in Liberty, four in Omaha, Neb., and one in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
