Pandolfi’s Deli closing in Columbus Park
After four years in Columbus Park, Pandolfi’s Deli is closing.
Owner Jake Hendershot said he will shut down the deli, at 538 Campbell St., on June 13. On that day his former chef, Grant Cansler, and current chef, Jeff Boyles, will create some special dishes, and the deli will serve some special cocktails through the evening.
The decision to close was “painfully difficult,” Hendershot said.
“It is a promising area and neighborhood, but it is still a little slow down here,” Hendershot said. “It has been a joy to be part of this community with amazing friends and neighbors. It’s been a great run.”
His great-grandfather, Giuseppi Pandolfi, is featured in the deli’s back-and-white logo. His parents also operated a Pandolfi’s Deli in Liberty in 2002 before selling it.
