Cupini’s Fresh Pasta & Panini is coming to Warrensburg
Cupini’s Fresh Pasta & Panini is planning to open in Warrensburg in May.
The Kansas City-based company is taking a spot at 214 E. Culton St., former home of Monetti’s Pizzeria Ristorante & Catering.
Cupini’s co-founder Frank Cupini was born in Rome in 1944 and began training with some of Italy's top chefs starting at age 14. He came to the United States in 1968. He later teamed with his son Eddie Cupini on a fresh pasta company, working out of Leawood’s Dean & Deluca. A year later, in 2003, the father/son team were co-founders of the first Cupini‘s at 1809 Westport Road.
The restaurant serves hot and cold panini sandwiches, entree salads, soups, pastas, pizzas and vegetarian dishes. “The Gangster” panini has prosciutto, salami, roasted bell peppers, eggplant, provolone cheese and a creamy garlic aioli. The menu also includes such items as spinach pies, lasagna, cannelloni, linguine Bolognese, and four cheese pizza.
