Outback Steakhouse closes in KCK’s Legends Outlets

Outback Steakhouse has closed after eight years in Kansas City, Kan.

The restaurant, at 1851 Village West Parkway, was an original tenant of the shopping center now known as the Legends Outlets Kansas City.

Elizabeth Watts, spokeswoman for Outback Steakhouse, said in a statement: “Closing a restaurant is never easy. This decision was made based solely on business circumstances and has no reflection on the employees.”

The restaurant had 57 employees and some had the opportunity to transfer to open positions at another area Outback location. Employees who did not transfer received a severance package, Watts said.

Outback Steakhouse also has area locations in Independence, Lee’s Summit, the Northland and Overland Park.
