Burnt End BBQ relocates in Overland Park

PB&J Restaurants Inc. is relocating its Burnt End BBQ in Overland Park.

The barbecue, burgers and beer operation got its start in 2011 at 11240 W. 135th St.

Now the Overland Park-based PB&J will close that location on Sunday and will reopen it Tuesday at 11831 Metcalf Ave.

Foster’s Grille and Traqueros Fresh Mexican Grill formerly operated in the freestanding building.

“You can’t even see us off 135th. We are way back from the road,” said Pat Khoury, president of PB&J. “But we did a ton of catering. We did more catering than restaurant sales there.”

Now the restaurant will be highly visible at the northeast corner of 119th and Metcalf. It also will seat 86 people compared to 25 seats at the 135th Street restaurant.

The Burnt End menu includes barbecue bowls like the Pig Out Bowl (pulled pork, Carolina-style barbecue sauce, hickory pit beans, coleslaw, cornbread and fried onion strings), barbecue platters, barbecue sandwiches and specialty sandwiches like the Smokehouse Reuben, along with steak burgers and chili cheese fries.
