Cheddar’s to open Monday near Liberty

Cheddar’s Casual Cafe plans to open Monday at 8380 N. Booth Ave.

About 90 percent of Cheddar’s food is made from scratch. Menu items include half-pound burgers, grilled chicken pecan salad, lemon pepper whitefish, chicken pot pie and country style fried chicken. It also serves such drinks as fruit infused teas.

The 8,000-square-foot freestanding restaurant will seat 288 people. It will have about 200 employees.

Cheddar’s, which was founded in 1979, has 150 company-owned and franchise locations in 28 states, including restaurants in Independence and Overland Park.
