Baked in Kansas City, an artisan bakery and bistro, opens in Westport
Baked in Kansas City — an artisan bakery and bistro — is now open in Westport.
Frank Sebree, owner of the Majestic Restaurant in downtown Kansas City, took over the former Napoleon’s Bakery at 706 Westport Road for the new venue. He’s remodeled the space, painting the walls a bright purple, putting in a new floor and expanding the dining area and outdoor patio.
The “baked” in the name comes from the fresh baked items on the menu.
• Breakfast: Quiches, sweet or savory pastries, coffee and fresh juices.
• Lunch: Appetizers like roasted red bell pepper and walnut dip with a baguette, bacon powder popcorn and baked mini empanadas; soups and salads like the warm kale pancetta; sandwiches such as the Majestic steak burger (using Majestic’s house-ground beef tenderloin), bison sliders and duck panini; and French or flatbread pizzas.
• Dinner: Entrees include the Butternut Squash Filet, Beer Braised Bison Short Ribs, Crispy Pork Belly and Double Chop of Lamb & Lamb Sausage, along with appetizers, soups and salads, French or flatbread pizzas, and build your own pizza.
It also has a full-bar serving craft beers, wines and cocktails.
Baked in Kansas City hours are: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. It is closed on Monday. Brunch is served from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
