New Asian restaurant opening in the Northland

Zhen Liu, a native of China, and Naree Lekphaijit, a native of Thailand, are teaming up in a new Northland restaurant.

Saki Asian Sushi Hibachi is scheduled to open in early February at 5225 N.W. 64th St.

The menu will include traditional hibachi and wok dishes, noodles and fried rice, sushi rolls, salads, and appetizers. Saki specialties will include Korean barbecue short ribs, Thai curry salmon and the Spring Garden (vegetables and fried tofu in a white Cantonese sauce). It also will have a children’s menu and a full bar.

The 4,200-square-foot freestanding building, just west of Interstate 29, is being remodeled. It previously housed such restaurants as YaYa’s Euro Bistro, Thai Place Northland, and Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant.
