Overland Park Hooters remodels, adds menu items

After nearly 22 years in Overland Park, Hooters has remodeled.

The 5,800-square-foot restaurant and bar, in Hooters Plaza at 10620 Metcalf Ave., has a brighter, more open feel with a central bar, new seating including booths and high-back chairs, and an outdoor patio, bringing seating capacity to more than 250 people. There also are new high-definition televisions throughout the restaurant.

New menu items include shrimp and spinach salad, Cobb salad, a smothered chicken sandwich, a blackened mahi mahi sandwich, and Baja fish tacos.

Hooters of America LLC is the franchisor and operator of more than 412 Hooters restaurants internationally. The first Hooters opened in 1983 in Clearwater, Fla.

The Overland Park location opened in 1992, when the name of the center was changed from Overland Station Shops to Hooters Plaza.
