Kansas City restaurant health inspections for Aug. 19
Here are area restaurants and grocery stores with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to the original public record reports by city or county health inspectors. Links to follow-up inspections are also highlighted.
Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:
▪ Le Fou Frog, 400 E. Fifth St., had 16 critical violations during an Aug. 13 routine inspection.
▪ Mama Tio’s Downtown, 1111 Main St., had 13 critical violations during an Aug. 5 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 12 follow-up inspection.
▪ Charlie D’s & Sons, 3123 Swope Parkway, had 11 critical violations during an Aug. 10 routine inspection. It had 9 critical violations during an Aug. 12 follow-up inspection.
▪ The Draft Pick Grill & Cantina, 240 N.E. Barry Road, had 11 critical violations during an Aug. 7 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 11 follow-up inspection.
▪ Jerusalem Bakery, 2002 W. 36th Ave., had 11 critical violations during an Aug. 12 routine inspection.
▪ BB’s Lawnside BBQ, 1205 E. 85th St., had 10 critical violations during an Aug. 5 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 14 follow-up inspection.
▪ Holiday Inn, restaurant/deli, 7333 N.E. Parvin Road, had 10 critical violations during an Aug. 4 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 14 follow-up inspection.
▪ Cascone’s Grill, 17 E. Fifth St., had 9 critical violations during an Aug. 14 routine inspection.
▪ Garozzo’s, 526 Harrison St., had 9 critical violations during an Aug. 3 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 6 follow-up inspection.
▪ Jimmy’s Jigger, Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen, 1823 W. 39th St., had 9 critical violations during an Aug. 10 routine inspection.
▪ Coal Vines, 616 Ward Parkway, had 8 critical violations during an Aug. 3 routine inspection. It had 1 critical violation during an Aug. 11 follow-up inspection.
▪ Treat America at H&R Block, 1 H&R Block Way, had 8 critical violations during an Aug. 13 routine inspection.
▪ Big T’s Bar-B-Que, 6201 Blue Parkway, had 7 critical violations during an Aug. 10 follow-up inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 17 follow-up inspection.
▪ Taqueria El Torito, 6126 Independence Ave., had 7 critical violations during an Aug. 7 follow-up inspection. It had 4 critical violations during an Aug. 17 follow-up inspection.
▪ Vietnam Cafe, 522 Campbell St., had 7 critical violations during an Aug. 4 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 11 follow-up inspection.
▪ Winstead’s, 6260 N.W. Barry Road, had 7 critical violations during an Aug. 11 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 14 follow-up inspection.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture: In a statement, department officials said inspections performed after Aug. 1 may not be available for viewing until further notice because of a transition to a new inspection software: “We apologize for any inconvenience.”
