A week ago, Artego Pizza posted a sign on the door saying it was “Closed for kitchen repairs.”

The restaurant, at 900 W. 39th St., reopened Saturday.

Founder Joe Perez, who had played for the Kansas City Chiefs and opened Artego Pizza in late 2014, issued this statement: “I am happy to say that we have been able to set aside our differences and most of all clear up the misunderstanding...... I look forward to continuing to serve midtown with this unique concept and begin delivery to serve other parts of the city.”

Brandon Carrier also issued a statement: “It has been concluded that Artego Pizza has a lot of moving parts and when you have more than one owner, misunderstandings can happen. Joe and I have chalked it up to just that, a simple misunderstanding.”

Carrier said he sold his interest in the restaurant and will “pursue other business opportunities.”

Perez, who was at the restaurant on Sunday, said the temporary closing also gave him time to make kitchen improvements, including putting in a new cooler.
