New area locations for PepperJax Grill, Spin Neapolitan Pizza & Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen

PepperJax Grill, a fast casual restaurant chain based in Omaha, has opened a location in the Northland’s The Plaza at Shoal Creek.

The new restaurant, at 9263 N.E. 83rd Terrace, near Liberty, offers Philly sandwiches, gourmet rice bowls, large burritos, loaded nachos, and fresh salads. Ingredients are grilled to order and customers have a choice of over 35 toppings. The restaurants also have a signature sauce bar.

More PepperJax Grills are coming to the metro. Construction is scheduled to start next week on a location in Antioch Crossing, 5235 N. Antioch Road, with a opening planned for November. A location in Cornerstone Commons, 5922 Barkley St., Mission, is scheduled to open by early November, and a Blue Ridge Crossing restaurant is scheduled to open in mid-to-late November.

Spin opens in Warrensburg

Spin Neapolitan Pizza opened its first location on a college campus on Aug. 13.

The new restaurant, at 114 W. South St., is on the first level of The Crossing-South at Holden, the University of Central Missouri’s new mixed-use student housing/retail project.

Spin, which was founded in 2005, currently has nine locations in the metro with another opening soon in the Northland.

Spin’s recipes are developed in collaboration with James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Smith. Its menu also includes fresh salads topped with made-from-scratch dressings, housemade soups, signature panini and Italian deli sandwiches, appetizers, small plates, and all-natural gelato ice creams.

Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen for Lawrence

Jazz, A Louisiana Kitchen plans an early October opening for its new location at 1012 Massachusetts in Lawrence.

Vic Allred opened the first Jazz in 1986 in Lubbock, Texas. He added a Kansas City location in 1994 on 39th Street’s restaurant row, and later opened locations in Columbia, Omaha and Kansas City, Kan., with partners.

The Lawrence location had previously been a Buffalo Wild Wings.

Allred also is looking at other sites in the metro, including Blue Springs, Leawood and Liberty, as well as in Austin, Texas. Menu items include blackened chicken and blackened steak, fried catfish, soups and salads, as well as daily specials.
