Bed Bath & Beyond is closing 87 more stores, including one in Johnson County
Once hugely popular with consumers, national retail chain Bed Bath & Beyond continues to downsize.
It plans to close an additional 87 of its stores, including one at 15335 W. 119th St. in Olathe.
These are in addition to an announcement last year that it would close 150 poor-performing locations.
The Olathe Station store has started a liquidation sale with items currently 20% off. It sells a variety of goods including bedding, bath, home decor, furniture, beauty and fitness, and luggage.
As of late November, the embattled retailer had 949 stores, including 762 Bed Bath & Beyond stores, 137 Buybuy Baby stores, and approximately 50 stores operating under the names of Harmon, Harmon Face Values or Face Values, according to trade store publication Chain Store Age.
It still has several stores across the Kansas City metro.
