Restaurant inspections for July 10

Here are area restaurants and grocery stores with 7 or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to the original public record reports by city or county health inspectors and the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Links to follow-up inspections are also highlighted.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

In addition, if a restaurant is temporarily shut down, a comment from the owner will be requested and a more complete description will be included with the online report.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:

▪ Aixois, 301 E. 55th St., had 7 critical violations during a June 2 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a June 10 follow-up inspection.

▪ Green Duck Lounge & Grill, 2548 Prospect Ave., had 7 critical violations during a June 1 routine inspection and one priority violation during a June 11 follow-up inspection.

▪ The Phoenix Jazz Club, 302 W. Eight St., had 7 priority violations during a June 2 routine inspection. It had no priority violations during a June 12 follow-up inspection.

▪ Somali Star Shops, 1208 Brooklyn, had 7 priority violations during a June 2 routine inspection. It had 6 critical violations during a June 10 follow-up inspection.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for 7 or more priority health code violations.

▪ El Rio Bravo, 11 S. 10th St., Kansas City, Kan., had 15 priority violations during a June 8 routine inspection and 16 priority violations during a June 18 follow-up inspection.

▪ Mun Pasand Grocery Store, 8350 W. 151st St., Overland Park, had 17 priority violations during a June 9 inspection for an expired license.

▪ Price Chopper, 7600 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 12 priority violations during a June 14 inspection following a complaint. It had 5 priority violations during a June 24 follow-up inspection.

▪ Hy-Vee, 8900 W. 135th St., Overland Park, had 8 priority violations during a June 3 routine inspection.

▪ Soccer Nation KC, 520 S. 55th St., Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a May 17 follow-up inspection.

▪ Vietnam Cafe, 2200 W. 39th Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 8 priority violations during a May 20 inspection for an expired license. It had 1 priority violation during a June 25 follow-up inspection.

▪ City Super Buffet, 12225 S. Strang Line Road, Olathe, had 7 priority violations during a June 5 inspection following a complaint. It had 1 priority violation during a June 18 follow-up inspection and 6 priority violations during a July 6 inspection.

▪ McDonald’s, 606 S. 130th St., Bonner Springs, had 8 priority violations during a June 10 routine inspection. It had 1 priority violation during a June 22 follow-up inspection.

▪ Black Dog Coffeehouse, 12815 W. 87th St., Lenexa, had 7 priority violations during a May 27 routine inspection. It had no priority violations during a June 8 follow-up inspection.

▪ China Feast, 1317 N. 38th St., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a May 27 follow-up inspection.

▪ Lutfi’s Fried Fish, 7704 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a June 4 follow-up inspection.

▪ Superstore, 13815 Polfer Road, Kansas City, Kan., had 7 priority violations during a June 11 routine inspection. It had 2 priority violations during a June 26 follow-up inspection.
