Veterans Day 2022: Here are some meals, deals and discounts in the Kansas City area
The following restaurants are offering special discounts to veterans and active duty military for Veterans Day. Military ID is required in most cases. Veterans should call ahead to verify requirements and participating locations.
We will be adding to this list as companies finalize their offerings. If you have a Veterans Day meal, deal and/or discount, email it, using the format in the list below, to jsmith@kcstar.com under the subject line “Veterans Day 2022.”
Unless otherwise noted, these specials are valid only on Veterans Day (Friday, Nov. 11).
▪ Arby’s, multiple area locations. Free classic roast beef sandwich.
▪ Bonefish Grill, Kansas City North, Leawood: Free order of Bang Bang shrimp and drink.
▪ Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Kansas City North, Liberty. Free pulled pork sandwich with the code VETFREE.
▪ Fareway Meat Market, Kansas City, Olathe. A 15% discount. The offer excludes tobacco, lottery tickets and gift cards, and is good in-store only.
▪ Fazoli’s, multiple area locations. Free regular spaghetti with meat sauce or marinara sauce on Thursday and Friday.
▪ Golden Corral, Independence, Kansas City, Olathe. Complimentary meal from 5 p.m. to close on Monday.
▪ Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom, multiple area locations. Free lunch from a select menu.
▪ Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt & Treats, Lawrence, Overland Park. $2 off any item.
▪ Panera Bread, multiple area locations. Free bakery item and a cup of coffee.
▪ PJ’s Coffee, Platte City: Free 12-ounce hot coffee or cold brew iced coffee.
▪ Red Lobster, multiple area locations. Free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, fries and coleslaw for dine-in and to-go orders placed in the restaurant from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
▪ Shatto Milk Co., 9406 N. Missouri 33 in Osborn, Missouri. Free day of tours and activities, along with samples, from 10:30 a.m. until the last tour at 4:30 p.m.,Thursday and Friday. For veterans and a guest.
▪ Twin Peaks, Independence, Kansas City, Olathe. Free lunch from a select menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Options include cheeseburger, chicken tenders or pulled pork sandwiches — all served with fries. Dine-in only.
