Another Johnson County pizza place on the way, with pizza bowls, BBQ topping, wings

Marco’s Pizza, which makes its dough fresh daily, is opening a new Johnson County location.
The restaurant, at 7472 Nieman Road in Shawnee, is set to open March 11.
The chain’s founder, Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco, grew up making pizzas with his father, who was an immigrant from Sulmona, Italy. He later created his signature pizza sauce.
Marco’s Pizza also has a proprietary cheese blend that is never frozen.
The menu includes the White Cheezy (with bacon, onions, sliced tomatoes, white sauce and cheese), the Philly (with steak, marinated mushrooms, green peppers, the BarBQ chicken (with grilled chicken, bacon, onions, cheese and barbecue sauce) and onions) and the Garden (mushrooms, black olives, onions, sliced tomatoes and cheese). Customers also can build their own pizzas.
Other menu items include pizza bowls, subs, wings and double chocolate brownies.
The chain, based in Toledo, Ohio, also has area locations in Gladstone, Independence and Olathe. It was founded in 1979 and has more than 1,000 worldwide.
