Breakfast, brunch and lunch chain First Watch has closed a longtime Overland Park location.

The restaurant, in The Shops at Corporate Woods at 9916 College Blvd., closed Sunday.

In a statement Monday, the company said: “At First Watch, we are constantly evaluating our portfolio of restaurants and today have confirmed the closing of our College Blvd. location in Kansas City. We made the difficult decision to close our restaurant on College Blvd. after 30 fantastic years, and we are taking steps to transfer all of our employees to our other First Watch locations in the Kansas City area.”

First Watch did not give specific reasons for the closing. It directed customers to its nearby Johnson County locations.

According to Kansas City Star archives, the 3,492-square-foot restaurant opened in 1989.

There are more than 425 First Watch restaurants in 28 states. Menu items include granola bowls, wraps, omelets and frittatas, breakfast tacos, Belgian waffles, entree salads and sandwiches including chicken salad melts.
