Baked potato pizzas, Philly steak sandwiches. Topeka-based restaurant opens in JoCo
Topeka’s Glory Days Pizza now has a Shawnee location.
Partner David Tofflemire said the freshness of the ingredients and variety of items on the menu sets his pizza places apart. The dough is made daily, then topped with their signature sauce.
The new location, in Shawnee Plaza at 13107 Shawnee Mission Parkway, serves 15 different specialty pizzas. They include the Works (its best-seller with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, beef, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and black olives), the Baked Potato (with ranch dressing, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, bacon garnish and topped with sour cream and chives), and The Waldorf (topped with apples, brie, cheese spread, chicken, dried cranberries, glazed walnuts and oregano mix).
Customers also can create their own pizzas from a variety of toppings. Crusts come in original pan style, thin, whole wheat thin, New York style (only on the 18-inch), gluten-free and cauliflower.
The menu also includes chicken Parmesan bites, wings, salads, sandwiches such as a Reuben and a Philly steak and Swiss cheese, pasta and desserts including an apple pizza with honey-baked crust and brown sugar streusel.
It also offers daily specials, and pizza by the slice from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The company was founded in 1985 and also has four locations in Topeka and one in Lawrence. The partners, which include George Hughes and Jason Lehnherr, may open more metro locations.
PepperJax Grill formerly operated in the Shawnee space but closed in late September 2019, according to the company.
