Maple-honey salmon, jackfruit Southwest bowl: New JoCo shop’s healthy meals to-go

Kitch, a new locally owned prepared meals shop, is coming to Prairie Village, and more locations may be coming across the metro.

Customers will be able to order the meals online for carryout or just walk in to order.

They also can join a weekly subscription service for pickup or delivery, ordering four to a dozen meals per week.

Kitch is taking a 2,000-square-foot space at 4133 W. 83rd St. in the new Corinth Quarter, just south of Corinth Square, for a retail shop and production facility. A Sept. 25 opening is scheduled.

“We will make it easier for people to prioritize their health and healthy eating in their lives,” said Kerry Goebel, partner. “We’re providing a solution that can truly have an impact on daily lives, just what a well-balanced thoughtful diet can do. And all of this is made in Prairie Village.”

It will have more than 30 menu items, including blackened chicken with Cajun mashed sweet potatoes and roasted broccoli; a jackfruit Southwest bowl with avocado salsa; maple-honey lime salmon with roasted sweet potatoes and slightly crunchy haricot verts; and pulled pork macaroni and cheese with chickpea penne pasta.

Subscriptions range from four meals per week for $10.50 each to a dozen meals a week for $9.50 each.

Kitch’s partners are Phillip Stewart and Braden Posey, owners of the three local Scissors & Scotch shops, and brothers Kerry and Kevin Goebel, owners of the three area Pie Five Pizza Co. restaurants and Cultivare Greens & Grains in the Crossroads and Overland Park.

They want to have Kitch shops across the metro.

Also new in Corinth Quarter: Scissors & Scotch opened earlier this month (by the two Kitch partners), and Nékter Juice Bar opened in July. Meddys Mediterranean Eatery & Craft Bar plans to open later this year.
