Whataburger plans another Kansas City metro location. It’s 1 of 7 spots in the works

Beloved Texas-based chain Whataburger is now eyeing a Kansas City, Kansas, site by the Legends Outlets Kansas City.

KMO Burger LLC is going through city planning to open one of the restaurants with a double drive-thru at 10780 Parallel Parkway, on the site of a former Logan’s Roadhouse.

The new 3,751-square-foot restaurant would replace the 6,726-square-foot Logan’s. Logan’s opened in 2012 and closed three years later.

Whataburger officials couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.

Back in 2018, Whataburger offered to send Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes some of his favorite ketchup and a t-shirt. He tweeted back, “I just want a store in Kansas City!”

But Whataburger was already scouting the market.

Whataburger restaurants are scheduled to open by the end of the year in Blue Springs, Independence, Lee’s Summit and south Overland Park, with at least one opening this fall. Another is in the works for Metro North Crossing for spring 2022. It also plans a location in 95Metcalf in Overland Park.
