Shop selling licensed Kansas City sports apparel coming to Legends Outlets
Locally owned Rally House has been rapidly expanding in the Kansas City metro and elsewhere during the pandemic.
Now, it will open a large store in the Legends Outlets Kansas City.
Rally House carries a large selection of officially licensed college, NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA and MLS apparel and merchandise.
Its new 13,625-square-foot store — at 1867 Village West Parkway, Suite D-103, in Kansas City, Kansas, (near The Lawn on the west side of the Legends) — is scheduled to open in July.
It will be a combo store — regular retail and outlet.
“Great new products, as well as great deals for the outlet shoppers,” said Aaron Liebert, CEO of the family-owned business.
It will be the chain’s second largest location. Its Lenexa location, under the Kansas Sampler banner, is the largest at 25,000 square feet. Its headquarters also is in Lenexa.
Rally House, which was founded in 1989 under the Kansas Sampler name, now has more than 80 locations in nine states. It opened 20 new stores in the last year, including four in the Kansas City market.
The Lee’s Summit store, which opened in November in SummitWoods Crossing, already plans to relocate in the center and expand to 10,000 square feet in June.
“I think the ‘casual, work from home’ is a big thing for us. We can’t keep pajama bottoms in stock,” Liebert said. “In Kansas City specifically, the sports teams are doing great. People love Kansas City and we have been here for a long time. People know what we are about and are excited to see us grow.”
With the rapid growth, Rally House needs 200 more employees across the company, including 20 at the corporate office and 30 to 40 in the Kansas City-area stores.
