Are you ready for Mother’s Day in Kansas City? Here are some ideas for dine-in, to-go
Mother’s Day spending is expected to hit record numbers this year as more people are vaccinated and stimulus checks are distributed, said the National Retail Federation.
In its latest survey of 7,818 adults, about 83% plan to celebrate this year, spending an average of $220.48 for a total of $28.1 billion, up $1.4 billion from 2020.
Jewelry and electronics will be top choices. One-third of those surveyed plan to shop online, down from 2020 when shoppers were dealing with mandated shutdowns, but still above pre-pandemic levels.
Area restaurants want consumers to spend some of those dollars with them and are offering several ways to celebrate Mother’s Day — dine-in specials, and carryout meals and kits.
